You were made for God’s glory. You were made to know God’s glory, to taste God’s glory, to behold and be changed by... God’s glory. In the New Testament, the Greek word used for glory, dóxa, connotes light that is shining, and in the context of John 1, it is clear that the light that is shining in darkness, the true light that is coming into the world, is not an abstract principle but a person: Jesus Christ. But what does it mean that Jesus is the true light? And how do we take in God’s glory?
