The Biblical Counseling Training at All Souls is designed to equip God’s people in compassionately and humbly providing hope and help to one another through authentic biblical friendship and discipleship, especially by guiding them in the specific and personal application of biblical truth, so strengthening their faith, and helping them enjoy and glorify the Lord with abiding hope and usefulness to his kingdom, even amidst personal, situational, and medical difficulty.
This counseling approach emphasizes the necessity of the Holy Spirit’s work in both the person providing counsel and the individual receiving counsel and is grounded in a belief in the sufficiency of Scripture, and the power of the gospel in addressing the entirety of human experience.
Through the Holy Spirit’s work, counseling at All Souls aims to effect heart-level change that manifests in godly living, rather than merely seeking behavioral modification. The goal is to align individuals with God’s redemptive mission through His church, fostering a community where members support one another in faith and grow together in their understanding and application of the gospel. This process not only reinforces the individual’s relationship with Christ but also strengthens the church’s collective witness to the excellencies of Christ.
